i still this is a load of bollocks haha how bad do they think modern engines are to need this and a full bottle cant be good for your bike cleaning it, your paying double petrol specially the stuff like ultimate and the higher octane stuff already has in it waste of money
Haha but Premium Fuel actually doesn't.
With premium fuel its mostly the "combustion process" that is cleaner. The fuel travelling to the combustion chamber is better for your fuel lines and injector etc, but its not perfect.
Redex and other brand "fuel cleaners" add that bit of perfection.
I've spent ages researching fuel and additives etc.
I used to sit and read discussions that people were having for hours...
...And still they never came to a conclusion at the end.
So I decided to find out for myself.
Your fuel injector has a 1 micron tolerance. Anything more than that and your spray pattern is deteriorating.
Trust me Redex and other fuel system cleaners work.
I have actually seen some excellent videos on fuel cleaner before I ever bought some.
I will try and find them and post them up for everyone.
And yes Al, you just tip it into your tank.
1 bottle of Redex - You tip a quarter of a bottle in with every tank full of 50 litres of fuel for a car it says.
So that means a full bottle treats 200 litres of fuel right?
Well for the £3 it costs, I dump the whole bottle in my bike tank!
Doesn't do any harm, in fact its probably wasteful.
But at least I know its super-strength cleaning!
I plan to do it every 5000 miles.
It says to do every 3000 miles on a car. But that's multiple injectors etc to clean.
So I think on a single cylinder, single injector bike then every 5000 miles is fine.
Especially as I run on "premium" fuel anyway.
Although its so cheap, you can chuck some in as and when.
Perhaps I should stop chucking a whole bottle in and do half a bottle every 2500 miles?
That's still cleaning at a super strength mixture, just more regular.
I guess whether there is science behind it to back it up or not,
It will always come down to someone's personal choice...
...And mine is that for £3 and with the bit of knowledge I have on fuel that I am willing to put some in my bike.
