Just bought a rear BT 45 to try it out :b Not planning on having the bike much longer, so it'll be someone elses problem if it turns out to be shite. Just hope I don't end up binning it after reading Bens post :/ I would think you'll be okay with it being a rear. You should have really gone Pirelli, Metzeler or even Avon or Continental though. Michelin and Bridgestone I would never use again but you'll probs get other people tell you them brands are awesome. But for me, I'd rather ride on melted and moulded bin bags. If you had put a front on then I would be more worried as its 99% the front that bins your bike. You can catch a rear slide fairly easy-ish. But you try catching a front slip!

He knows I am ready to do my test and obviously knows my taste in bikes too well also

I had my front slide out the other week but, through sheer luck managed to save it don't ask me how though lol. I spoke to a few people about tyres and they seemed 50/50 between the sport demons and the BT45's. Some seemed to say that overall the Pirellis were better in the dry but, that the BT45's had a bit more drip in the wet and lasted a bit longer. Don't know how true this is though, so thiught I'd give them both a try

You'll get the bike you want someday mate.
I know how you feel though. I've been riding around over here on my R125 for over a year and as much as I love the R, I've been drooling at all the bigger sports bikes on the road. Especially when I go out for some fun at the weekend and see loads of R6's, R1's, Gixxers, Ducatis ect...only to see them leave me for dust.
Just take your time having fun and getting as much riding experience as you can on the bike you have at the moment, as it'll serve you well when you do move up to something bigger.

Well....I got the rear BT45 fitted this afternoon and I must say that it looks the business Of course, it's the performance of the tyre that matters but, I need to spend a day or two running it in before I can comment on that. Also, if I don't post my findings within the next few days, you can probably take it that it's no good and I'm in hospital lol.

Well, I've run the BT 45 in (done around 180 miles today) and had no problems with it whatsoever.
It does seen to lean into the corners better than the mitches too, a more natural and rounder feeling to it as you lean the bike over. Still taking it a bit easy on the bends for now though.
Can't compare it to the Sport demons as I haven't tried them but, the BT's are a definate improvement on the stock tyres...not that that's going to be difficult.

I would love to know why Yamaha keep putting the Mitchellin sportys on the R125 as the prefered choice of stock tyres. Okay, maybe they are a bit cheaper then the BT45's or Pirelli sport demons but, as they would be buying them in bulk direct from the company itself, surely it would only be a matter of a few quid.
Yammy need to sort this out. Why make such a great bike and out such a pile of crap on the part that keeps it the right way up? Purely idiotic.
