Hello
My names Ian, I'm 27 and live in Fair Oak with my wife and two daughters (4months and 6)
I've just recently done a free ride experience at ART in Southampton, and it was truly amazing. I've never ridden a bike(until Saturday just gone) cant even drive a car(I've had a few lessons).
I should be booking my CBT and buying all the gear I need soon and then hopefully work on to getting direct access.

Yea, rather looking forward to it, I get my money on the 8th, then I go shopping for a helmet and the other bits.
Just keeping an eye out for a bike. I've heard mixed revives about the Chinese bikes, but I don't think I can shell out more than £700 for a pre-loved 125

Avoid at all costs if you can. I understand that your budget is around £700 but you should try and bide your time and look around for a cheap Japanese bargain if you can. A chinky bike will fall apart in a rust heap within the first year and will give you more problems meachanically than it's worth. Try to look out for a used YBR or CBF if you can find one for that amount of cash. Even if they are pretty old ones, they'll serve you better than a cheap chinese bike.

Ideally I'b be looking for more a cruiser type bike, like the Eliminator or the Honda Shadow. No one seems to sell bikes like this for under a grand unless they damaged( would be a nice project, money depending ofc).
But yes, avoid Chinese bikes.
Cheers guys

Good luck.

Stuff the YBR or CBF.
Get a CBR (original shape).
They can be bought from £500 and up quite often.

I dont really like the ride style of sportish bikes, I'm 6"2 and a little bit chubby round the edges haha. Plus id prefer to sit up right, and have the handle bars are a reasonable height.
