yea you might want to Challenge this Shamzr if you have a contract even if its 5mins a week you have a right to a formal and verbal notice the length depends on the company ie if i was not boot a load of guys from my work i would give them 2-3 months written then a 2-3 week verbal.

contest it mate, if you have been working there a while you are entittled to some pay from being laid off They have no warning no nothing. I'm contracted 26hrs a week. Matter of fact they didn't ring to tell me I rang then to find out regarding shifts and then they told me 'oh btw you ain't working in that store no more' I didn't know the world was full of such people. I wouldn't be so pissed off but it's only because I've placed order on my bike and now all this happens. Such a head ache!

Sorry to hear that mate. Try to find out what rights you have. It really sucks to treat people in the way they've treated you.
This is the kind of thing that being in a union can be really useful for. I've always been in one and it's helped me out on a number of occasions over the years.

you have unfair dismissal, and a unprofessional way of being fired, go to court about it

Who did you work for mate? Because they're breaking the law! You can get FREE legal advice with a solicitor. And if you have a case then you can sue on a no-win-no-fee basis. You could end up a wealthy guy, at least a few thousand. Its got to be causing you extreme stress, illness, recurring nightmares, financial strain and depression? Wink wink. Worth some free legal advice mate for sure. I wouldn't leave it, if it was me.

It's taught me a life lesson tbh that never trust anyone at work.

I don't believe in treating people like that because who knows what your situation will be tomorrow. Even if they didn't like me for whatever reason they should've at least had decency to make up a complaint against me and give me warnings/notice. Oh well it's done now and I've got a interview lined up tomorrow with BT for a engineering apprenticeship so wish me best of luck guys

But Yeah, do go andesee a solicitor. Once they have the details of what happened, they'll do most of the work for you and you'll most likely get the company making an out of court settlement, depending on the case and your contract.

They even have a branch over here in Douglas. I've been sick and tired of working for the health service for some time. Might look into them.
