It ranges on the dial from 1 to 10 (which is prime). I have never had mine above 2. There is no need too. Mine is on either 1 or it might even be on 0.5!Chains don't need oil pouring all over them as you ride. Just 1 drip every minute is more than enough. Also, it doesn't drip onto the chain it drips onto your rear sprocket. Natural motion then forces it to spread along the chains roller. People assume that its supposed to just be constantly pouring oil on your chain. If it did that, then you would have used your entire reservoir of oil before you got a mile down the road. Its 1 drip a minute or even less. The standard reservoir should last you thousands of miles worth of oiling. No mess, no fuss, just a perfect conditioned chain. I give mine a clean with diesel and a toothbrush once in a blue moon. Had the chain a long time now and its like new. No stiff links, nothing.

Can someone tell me also how to live a chain please? Another thing my dealership mentioned was check chain tension? What does that mean lol?

Can someone tell me also how to live a chain please? Another thing my dealership mentioned was check chain tension? What does that mean lol? Firstly, just get ANY chain lube as they are all bullshit. Haha. You'll see Castrol Racing Non-Fling which costs a bomb, yet I have NEVER seen a decent review on it. Just buy the first chain lube you see. Will be about £2.50 - £3 ish. Spray it on a rag and wipe it round your chain. Or put a rag on hand behind chain and spray chain and rub it. Either way, don't apply loads of the sticky shit and don't spray it all over your bike, brakes, tyre etc. As for your chain tension, that means the amount of "sagging" you have. Now I have said sagging, get the thought of Susan Boyles breasts out of your head. Your chain should have some slack in it. It shouldn't be dead tight. The recommended amount of play for the R125 is 30mm to 40mm. But its a personal thing. Some people like a tighter chain and some like a looser chain. I have mine at the tighter end range, about 30mm.

Also if you want the full service manual on the R125 then I have it on file and can email you it on request. It tells you everything about how to service your bike with basic stuff like chain tension and oil changes. And also tells you more complicated things such as adjusting valves and piston etc. Just private message me your email address and I will send you it.

Yeah I'd appreciate that mate How long till my chain will start 'sagging' lol? how will I identify how many mm it has saged lol? Sorry the questions might sound daft but as I've mentioned before I'm literally new to all this bike stuff but I want to make sure I maintain it properly and not fuck it up lol.

You will be able to tell when its too slack. If you grab the chain and move it up and down, it should move about 30mm to 40mm. So basically from centre (chain in a straight line), that's 15mm up and 15mm down. Or 20mm and 20mm. I have my chain with about 30mm play, maybe a little less (25mm).
