What tyres did you have as stock?? As far as I know the Honda CBR uses IRC Tyres as stock. I might be wrong but I'm sure that's what they are.

purchased some new sprockets going down 1 tooth on the front for acceleration fed up of top gear being pointless haha If you want to use the top gear you need to go up a tooth not down dude. It's same on the YZFR. 6th gear is just pants as stock. 14 is stock on the YZFR front sprocket, but fitting a 15 makes use of the top gear. A higher tooth sprocket like a 15 tooth will lose acceleration a bit and gain more top speed. It also lowers the rev range for each gear which means the engine will last longer. A 13 tooth is the reverse of this. More acceleration and lose top end speed. Fitting a 13 would just rev the bike a lot higher in every gear like a wheelie machine till it blew up!

I'd rather lower the revs in each gear and gain more top speed and less strain on the engine. Going down a tooth is gonna rev the shit out of it in every gear. And with the way you ride already cbrsims I would say you should go up not down.

nah mate, i dont think you understand what it does it will just accelerate more then you change in every gear normally, but in 6th gear it doesnt rev past 9 on a bad day it does no damage at all just improves my acceleration

That means more strain on the engine. You're right that it improves acceleration but you will also lose top end speed.

its no more strain on the engine mate it gets revved in every gear anyway but top gear is pointless doesnt rev out at all takes a massive hill to do anyhing with it
