CBR, about all you can get in the info on these ECU's is blurb from the Yamaha India site, where they talk about the Yamaha R15 racing kit, as an option. They mention the ECU in the kit specs. Other than that the Daytona site in Japan lists them as part of the kit there for R15's. there is unfortunately very little hard info out there that is freely available about them, it's all very secret,
I first came across them when I was told that there where Indian race teams getting 22hp out of I50/160cc Yamaha's and I WANTED SOME OF IT. so I asked some questions, which let me back to the Daytona Kit... but you could no buy one on it's own or for that matter from Japan, as they'd only sell it with the Kit to Yamy dealers.
I ended up buying a fully programmable unit that piggybacked into the stock ECU, from Indonesia. Fortunately I have now a contact In India, and he found a kit, and sent me the ECU. I believe that this is the only Daytona ECU outside of India. And it is the real deal, I went from being unable to stay or catch the CBR150's, mind you they are not stock either, to running with and sometimes beating them, only sometimes. This may bore you:
So the problem with the Yamaha as a 150cc is when you move to using a flowed big valve head and a real race cam you cannot get enough fuel into the engine over 6,000 rpms. WE have tried with fuel controllers and different ecu's etc etc, and spent dyno time and ended with up sH!te and going back to the Daytona Kit cam. Still good for 20hp, but The quickest guy I run against is a friend with a dyno and he is using a CRF 150r motor with a 33mm Keihin FCR carby and programmable CDI. knocking out about 28hp and no fueling issues so that's why I'm swapping to a carby set up and I am saving about 6 kg in weight, no battery to start with. That's the simple version it's a bit more complicated that that, and that's why I'm selling up my FI stuff. really the Daytona ECU will make a R125 fly, no bullsh!t, and if I didn't trust going to t carby, I'd still be using it.
