Well the bastard po po got me I had just come down the final straight of the mountain, overtook a van just as the road changes from no speed limit to 40 and as I look up, there's mr police man pointing a speed gun at me. I hit the brakes (as you do) but he signals at me to pull over. Turns out he's got me doing 61 in a 40. It was literally just for a few yards into the 40 section too...sneeky bastards. What's the fine in the uk? I've been told it's a minimum of £150 plus 3 points

See...it ain't all good living here. It's £150 minimum plus I was told it'll probably be higher due to how far over the limit I was. Good news is he didn't mention that I had no rear L plate or I'd be looking at 6 points and not 3. Stll feel like I've been raped though

Just been informed that the fine is likely to be £360 £150 for breaking the speed limit plus £10 for every 1mph over it. Gotta laugh though. I mean...being done for speeding on the TT mountain section on a 4 stroke 125 ffs! I'm off to drink beer....I need to.

Oh god Dave please tell me he had a condom! Please oh god tell me he had a condom! Lol...it's ok. He just used his rather large truncheon and said that the only time he'd had this much fun before was with his sister/mother.

He comes from Portland? shout the R word at him that will scare him off Loooooool! Mate the banter here is just too much haha I had to Google that shit about the R word and portland lol. Never heard of that stuff up here. However, over in tje Isle of Man they have a similar thing going on regarding rats...oh shit...I mean long tails as that's what you have to call them over here. Lol. The older manx have a real fear of that word and some weird customs if anyone says it. Basically if you say the word rat within earshot of a manxie, they'll tap on some wood and whistle at the same time to dispell the "bad"word you've just spoken. Me and my mates used to have great fun speaking it in the pub so locals could hear us and then watch them tapping the nearest piece of wood while whistling. Bonkers they are lol.

It was down to misjudgement on my part. I thought I'd have more room to get my speed down after overtaking the van (as I started the overtake in the NSL section) unfortunately the van was going faster than I anticipated, hence it taking longer to get in front. I was slowing my speed down but without pulling off an emergency brake, there was no chance of getting down to 40 mph before the sign. I don't break the speed limit as a rule, as you say, I am free to ride as fast as I can on large parts of the island. This was more a case of fucking up a bit in the wrong place at the wrong time and getting caught, even though there was nothing unsafe about it, as opposed to speeding per se
