the crime is not in doing but in getting caught my friend The van I was initially behind blocked my view until it was too late. I hit the brakes harder but he already had me busted. I'll just chalk it up to experience.

It's only illegal if you get caught, something I always live by. Though £150 is very steep for speeding.

Yeah...I took my eye off the ball for a second as I was more interested in watching the van I was overtaking. As I got in front of the van I looked up and...well...thought "oh shit" as I saw the copper and hit the brakes even harder. Also, as if £150 ain't bad enough, I'm actually looking at around £360. As I've since learned it's £150 fot the offence of speeding, plus an extra £10 for every 1mph over the limit and I was caught doing 61mph in a 40 zone, albeit by a matter of a few yards. And the police wonder why we see them as cunts :\

If I was you I would fight the 1mph charge see if they will waiver it no harm in trying. you live on a 36 mile racetrack wtf are you ment to do on a bike obey speed limits!? Pfft bunch of idiots, bet there just as bad.

Too right its extortionate. No point in fighting it though as it would mean a day off work and a day in court, I'm in a no win situation either way The thing that pisses me off though, is their pretence that it's all done in the name of road safety. There was nothing unsafe about what I was doing. I was on a long straight, in perfect weather and road conditions, had a clear view of the road ahead and there was no other traffic around except for the van I was overtaking, also, I wasn't in a built up area. Yet I live in a 20mph limit road with an infant school on it and you see/hear cars tearing down the road every day but, in the 10 years that I've lived here, how many speed traps do you think there have been? Not a single one.

And how can they prove you were racing? Just be gratefull you don't live here, you'd possibly be saying bye bye licence. Bad luck though anyway. How many points are you currently on?

i was done for 50 to 55 mph he didnt even know but i was actuly doing about 75 in a 30 but i was slowing down they cant prove i was racing hence why i only got a section 59 for it instead of losing my bike and license i now have 3 thanks to this incident i was done by an undefcover copper hiding in a set of flats archway that lead to a private parking area :/

That's an instant ban here apparently :/ The cop who got me was hiding behind a bush. Hence my argument that I was riding safely, as otherwise I'd have run him over when he jumped out into the middle of the road.

But thats the reason not to speed to go anywhere get out of town and you can go unlimited speeds, dont admit to anything at first, see what they get you for then answer accordingly cop asks you how fast you where going say the speed limit then theirs no admission, and if he said he did 80 to catch up thats still not proof of guilt they need camera and laser gun evidence to prove speeds
