its a rip on the edge of tyre and no garage will touch it as it has already got 3 plugs in it from previous owner aswell as it being a rip on the side

Ok just to sort confusion depends on the speed rating of the tyre and were the puncture is if its on the edge or side of the tyre its ilegal to repair same with if its over a certain speed rating because if the repair fails its the garage that is liable to be sued Yeah this is true about the side wall of the tyre. Plugging isn't designed for the side wall. Not sure if anything is. Once your side wall is FKed the tyres had it I think. Never heard about the speed rating though. I have plugged a guys tyre on his GSXR750 after he picked up a nail. He's still riding on the same tyre 2 years later.

thats very dangerous, but most garages wont repair much above a 250s treys there is a speed rating on every tyre its sometimes aletter or the actual speed on it, but once something penetrates the Tyre carcass it has been compromised so heat and cold and the Tyre flex will all effect the longevity of the Tyre repairs are always a quick temporary fix but just that a "temporary fix" www.blackcircles.com/general/speedratingthat sort of explains abit better

Same with that goo stuff that you fire into the tyre via the air valve. That's supposed to be temporary but I know you can ride on it for life. I know people who have had the foam fill on in their car tyre for more than 2 years!

Well today the bike got a complete deep clean and oil change etc. But look what I did!... ...OMG I POURED DIESEL INTO MY ENGINE!!! Yes, I drained the oil and then flushed my engine through with diesel. Its the ultimate clean and its cheap and easy to do. And no don't worry and start saying stuff like "OMG your bikes gonna blow up!" This is an old school trick and it works fantastically. Diesel like petrol is an excellent cleaner. But unlike petrol, Diesel is also an oily lubricating fuel. This is why its fine to flush your engine with as any deposits are washed out. Also any rubber parts and bearings etc are still supple and lubricated. So its the best thing you can ever soak your chain in! Comes out sparkling clean and keeps all seals (O-rings or x-rings etc)supple and lubricated. See for yourself! My chain was a right state. Left for half hour or so in a bowl of brand new Diesel fuel. Just look at the colour of the Diesel! Its black! But the chain is as good as the day it was made. Petrol will also clean fantastic but it can dry out rubber parts. And its not an oily fuel so not good for keeping things lubricated. So its always worth having yourself a fuel can with diesel in to do some real cleaning!

I hope U dont cook with that saucepan Ben... Of course I do! Its an amazing saucepan... Anti-burglar device (one whack is all it takes).
Fantastic head-gear when playing "Pots 'n' Pans Robots".
And coupled with a spoon it makes a great drum too.

I normally just wash mine with a bucket and brush (my hosepipe doesnt work, otherwise i'd use that). If I'm feeling lazy then I just take it to the jet wash in my village and wash it for a quid. I use white spirit for the wheels, along with a toothbrush and a cloth. Dip the toothbrush in white spirit, scrub the dirt and then wipe it off with the cloth
